Even though I intend to make up a fictional location for my mystery series, I have decided I am going to base the location/setting on two beautiful places, Qu' Appelle Valley, Saskatchewan, and Minnedosa Manitoba. None of the characters are based on anyone from either of these places. In fact, I have only driven through both areas, but it had been impressive enough for me to imagine revisiting each of them.
I picture a rural community, filled with eccentric characters, strong family ties, a little quirky humor, and some romance.
